Accomplished Brazilian pianist Eliane Rodrigues interprets Chopin with a highly combustible melange of precision, expressiveness and dynamism on her newest release, DREAMSCAPE. With her trademark crystal-clear tone and larger-than-life interpretation, Rodrigues brings Late-Romantic grandeur to the Romantic composer.
The juxtaposition of Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with his famous Préludes op. 28 impressively highlights one of the greatest strengths of Rodrigues: her ability to coax orchestral colors from seemingly straightforward solo piano pieces. The shades and hues she manages to produce unveil an entirely new facet of the Polish composer’s works: a sense of spatial vastness and exuberance.

In my latest album, DREAMSCAPE, I invite you to explore the evocative landscapes of Chopin’s music with me. This project has been a labor of love, transforming his timeless pieces into something fresh and new while honoring their original brilliance.
During these challenging times, I sought solace and inspiration in Chopin's music. His two piano concertos, reimagined with modern tones, allowed me to recreate the orchestral experience that is more easily performed without a conductor. This intimate approach brings a new depth and accessibility to these works.
The album also features Chopin's complete set of 24 Preludes, performed with my signature precision and expressiveness. These pieces remain untouched, preserving their pure, emotive power.
Recording DREAMSCAPE with the Brussels Philharmonic was a collaborative journey that highlighted the unique artistry of each musician, creating a rich, multifaceted interpretation of Chopin's masterpieces.
DREAMSCAPE is not just an album; it is a heartfelt tribute to my late mother and brother, whose love for Chopin has always been a source of inspiration for me. This album is my way of sharing that inspiration with you.
